SCA Purpose
“To stimulate in the students of Buckhorn High School an active interest in student government affairs, increase the efficiency of popular government, to foster and perpetuate the ideals and principles of Buckhorn High School, to encourage statesmanship, to aid our community [...] and to serve as a voice for the students of Buckhorn High School.” -SCA Constitution
Requirements for eligibility
- Maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and no more than 1 failing grade in a grading period
- Attend all monthly meetings, perform assigned SCA duties, and attend SCA events
- Exhibit exemplary behavior and leadership qualities in school, in the community, and on social media
- Sign and abide by SCA Constitution
- Executive President and Vice President must have been members of SCA for 2 semesters.
Selection Process
- Submit official SCA application available at www.buckhornsca.weebly.com
o DUE August 19 at 4pm. No late applications will be accepted. EXTENDED TO MIDNIGHT.
- Screening interviews and reports from faculty will be used to assess leadership qualities, appropriate behavior, ability to communicate ideas, and overall character
o Screening interviews held August 21 immediately after school
o A list of eligible candidates will be posted on August 20 by 3:30 pm
- Campaign posters will be allowed from August 24-26. All school rules must be followed. Posters must be removed by 4pm on August 26. More details to follow
- General elections will be held August 28
